The radiator in your vehicle plays a vital role in the cooling system, ensuring that the motor runs at the correct temperature. Over time all engine components slowly deteriorate. To gain the maximum life out of your radiator, all cooling system components should be inspected regularly - at least once per year. Our general maintenance check will inspect and report on the following items:
- Cooling system hoses and clamps
- Thermo fan operation
- Fan belts
- Water pump and Welsh plugs
- Radiator overflow tank
- Radiator cap
- Check radiator for corrosion ona restricted air flow
- Pressure test cooling system
- Flush system and refill coolant
- Look for evidence of Stray Current*
*This is a phenomenon of late model vehicles with plastic radiator tanks. For more information read this Nulon fact sheet.
